2 hurt in IU BCL factional clash


Two Bangladesh Chhatra league (BCL) activists received critical injuries in a factional clash on Islamic University (IU) campus in Kushtia on Saturday night.

One of the injured was identified as Himel Chakma, a student of Accounting and Information System  department in Masters.

Campus sources said there had been a longstanding dispute between BCL leaders Faisal Siddiqui Arafat and Shahjalal Islam Sohag over establishing supremacy on the campus.

As a sequel to the dispute, followers of Arafat and Sohag equipped  with lethal weapons swooped on each other, leaving two critically injured.

On information, the IU proctorial body rushed to the spot and sent the injured to the university hospital.





The injured were, later, shifted to Kushtia Sadar Hospital, IU Proctor Prof Paresh Chandra Barman confirmed.
