Rizvi among 10 injured in police action

Police charged baton on BNP men while they brought out a protest procession in city's Mirpur area on Saturday that left at least 10 people, including Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, injured.

The BNP men brought out the procession, led by its senior joint secretary general Rizvi, around 11am demanding release of jailed party chief Khaleda Zia.

Rizvi alleged that the law enforcers suddenly attacked their peaceful procession and started using baton to disperse the BNP leaders and activists.

Strongly condemning the attack, the senior BNP leader said, "Attack and case will not repress BNP's democratic movement."
