BSF returns Bangladeshi

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) returned a Bangladeshi national on Thursday, 22 hours after he was picked up allegedly by its members from bordering Khalishakothal area in Fulbari upazila of Kurigram.

The BSF handed over Nurnabi Mia, 32, son of Maqbul Hossain of Khochabari village in the upazila, to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) after a flag meeting between the borders forces held at Khalishakothal border in the evening.

The BGB took initiatives to bring back Nurnabi after they were informed about the matter.

BGB Balarhat Company commander Obaidur Rahman and Ashoke Kumar, commander of BSF Karla camp, led their respective sides. A delegation from Fulbari Police Station was also present, BGB sources said.

Confirming the matter, the police station OC Rajib Kumar Roy said Nurnabi will be handed over to his family after completion of legal procedure.
