'No chance of militant attack over Feb 21'

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam has said all out preparations have been undertaken in observence of the International Mother Language Day and Shaheed Dibosh on February 21.

"There is no possibility of any militant attack centering the day," he said.

The DMP boss came up with the comment while talking to reporters after observing  the security measures around the Shaheed Minar area on Wednesday.

A four-tier security measures will be taken around the Shaheed Minar area, he said.

People who will come to pay tribute to the Language Movement martyrs have to enter Shaheed Minar through the archways after checking.

Highest security measures, including deployment of Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT), Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) units and dog squad team, will be taken to avert any kinds of unexpected events with monitoring the entire areas through CCTV cameras and watchtowers.

Moreover, DMP Cyber Security and Crime Division will also monitor the situation through social media.
