Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) tested about 600 samples of fruit but found no formalin or any other chemical in them, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun told parliament on Tuesday.

The minister revealed the findings in the House in reply to a query from Awami League MP M Abdul Latif from Chattogram-11, UNB reports.

In a tabled scripted answer, the minister said BSTI is operating mobile courts aiming to curb the use of harmful chemical in fruits in line with the High Court directives.
