A senior director of the Bank of Thailand on Monday said that commercial bank loans in Thailand could increase by more than 2% this year and bad loans could increase as the economy slows.

Director Tharith Panpiemraas told reporters that non-performing loans (NPLs) could be higher than 3% of total lending at some points this year.

In 2019, loan growth increased by 2% and NPL lending stood at 2.98%.-Internet
