Akhaura-Agartala rail line to be completed in time: Indian HC
Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Riva Ganguly Das on Wednesday said that works on the Akhaura-Agartala rail line would be completed by next year.
"Trade and commerce between Bangladesh and north east India will be improved once the rail line opens" said the envoy while visiting the construction work of the rail line in Akhaura of Brahmanbaria.
Replying a question from reporters about border killing, she said, "The BSF and the BGB maintain good relationship. They will coordinate the matter on their own."
Indian High Commission first secretary Anita Barik, protocol officer Amarish Kumar, Akhaura UNO Tahmina Akter Reina and Akhaura Police Station officer in-charge Rasul Ahmed Nizami were, among others, present.
According to the project document, the 15-kilometre Akhaura-Agartala rail project is being implemented at a cost of Tk 478 crore.
