Gaze.technology to attend startup WC final
Bangladeshi local start-up Gaze Technologies will represent the country as the camera solution maker won tile in the world's most prestigious tech-enabled business contest in the regional final.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ICT Division and International Finance Corporation (IFC) jointly arranged the Startup World Cup regional final while Pegasus Tech Ventures ' global initiative marked E-generation. Gaze Technologies Co-founders Shehzad Noor Taus and Motasim Rahman jointly the champion trophy from Foreign Minister Abdul Momen and ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak at the closing ceremony of the competition at Radisson Blu Dhaka on Saturday.
Among others, Pegasus Tech Venture Chairman Anisuzzaman, EGeneration Chairman Shameem Ahsan and state-run Agrani Bank Managing Director Shams-ul Islam were also present in different session. Minister's Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman attended the opening ceremony on that morning.
Venture Capital and Private Equity Association of Bangladesh (VCPEAB), Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Singapore Venture Capital and Equity Association (SVCA), Startup Bangladesh and TiE Dhaka are partners of the event.
EGeneration Chairman Shameem presented the mission of startup ecosystem at the session titled 'Venture Capital for Double Digit Growth'. Shameem mentioned that there is one objective to create five companies with billion-dollar valuation in Bangladesh by 2025. The current startup ecosystem of the country is valued at 1.45 billion with a potential to reach 10-billion-dollar valuation, according to the investor.
Regional final champion Gaze technologies will also get the opportunity to represent Bangladesh in Annual Investment Meeting in UAE.
Gaze has built an intelligent video analytics software platform capable of fetching realtime insights from video feeds produced by CCTV cameras using technologies like face recognition, license plate recognition, vehicle re-identification, etc.
