Fear of police should be removed from public mind: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary has said that police force would become ‘people’s police’ as per Bangabandhu's aspiration.

"Police force is being developed mentally and morally. So that country people can get expected services round the year removing fear of police from their minds marking the Mujib Borsho," said the police boss on Monday.

The IGP came up with the comment while talking to journalists after inaugurating the newly-built modern armory at Patuakhali Police Lines.

He said Bangladesh's anti-militant drives have been praised worldwide although militancy could not be kicked out completely.

Barishal range DIG Shafiqul Islam, police superintendent Mainul Hasan and high police officials were also present in the programme.

Later, the IGP inaugurated the annual sports programme of Patuakhali district police.
