Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Wednesday accused BNP of hatching conspiracy to make Dhaka city polls questionable.
“Sensing their defeat, BNP is hatching conspiracy to make Dhaka city corporation polls questionable . . . They (BNP) are chalking out blueprint to create a turmoil situation centering the election,” he told journalists while inaugurating a colourful rally at Tejgaon in the city, said an official release on Wednesday.
Dr Hasan, also the Awami League Joint-General Secretary, added: “With only few days left for the election to Dhaka South and North City Corporations, BNP is trying to make their ‘petrol bombers’ active.”
Chalachitra League, a cultural organization of film artists, brought out the procession at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in Tejgaon as part of its programme on celebrating the Mujib Year.
The information minister urged all to remain alert so that none can create any anarchy centering the upcoming polls slated for February 1.
