Bangladeshis to be brought back from China

Bangladeshis to be brought back from China

Bangladeshis willing to return from China will be brought back home following outbreak of deadly Coronavirus.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam confirmed the matter in his Facebook post on Monday morning.

He said the Foreign Affairs Ministry has started working to bring them back following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's directives in this regard.

In his status, the state minister said, "We've (the ministry) already begun discussing the matter with the Chinese government. The process to bring the Bangladeshis back will be undertaken as per the consent from the local administration in the context of the current situation."

"Our main aim is the safety of our citizens. An initial directive will be issued by today to make a list of those willing to come back," he added.

The virus, believed to have originated late last year in a seafood market in the central Chinese city of Wuhan that was illegally selling wildlife, has spread to Chinese cities.
