Hill cutting: Worker killed in Khagrachari



A worker was killed in a landslide while cutting a hill illegally in Ramgarh Upazila of Khagrachari on Friday afternoon.

Deceased Khagendra Tripura, 32, was the son of Khet Kumar, a resident of Tekpara village in Matiranga upazila.

Locals said a chunk of of earth from the hill entrapped Khagendra while cutting it illegally by an excavator in Lalchari area around 12.30 pm.





Receiving phone call through 999, fire fighting unit and police went to the spot and recovered the body after four hours of frantic effort.

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection with Ramgar Police Station, said its officer in-charge Samsuzzama.
