2 Bangladeshis killed in BSF firing
Two Bangladeshi cattle traders were gunned down by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Hatibandha upazila border area of Lalmonirhat on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Suruj, 15, and Suruj Mia, 32, residents of Purbo Amjhol village in the upazila.
Quoting locals, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said a group of cattle traders went to India crossing Amjhol border at early hours to bring cattle.
The BSF men opened fire on them while returning home at about 7:00am, leaving Suruj dead on the spot and another injured by bullet.
Suruj Miah died on way to a local hospital.
The BGB-15 commanding officer Lt Col SM Towhidul Alam said a letter was sent to the BSF for holding a flag meeting.
