3 construction workers electrocuted



Three construction workers died from electrocution in city's Rayer Bazar area on Wednesday during piling works  for erecting the BIWTA's boundary pillars.

Two other workers were also injured in the incident that took place on the bank of the Buriganga River behind Sikder Medical College and Hospital around 10am, said Hazaribagh Police Station OC Ikram Ali.

The deceased  were identified as Jhoru Sheikh, 45, Saiful Islam, 45, and Monjurul Islam, 35.

The five came in contact with a 11,000-volt electric wire during the piling works, leaving three dead on the scene and two others injured, the OC said.

The wounded were admitted Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
