20 hurt in IU BCL factional clash
At least 20 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in a factional clash at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Tuesday.
Campus sources said followers of IU uni BCL general secretary Rakibul Islam Rakib and a leader Faisal Siddique Arafat had long been at loggerhead over establishing supremacy in the varsity.
As a sequel to the dispute, activists of both the groups, equipped with lethal weapons, swooped on each other and exploded three cocktails, leaving 20 people injured.
On information proctorial body rushed to the spot and sent the injured to the university’s hospital and Kushtia Sadar Hospital, said IU acting proctor Anisur Rahman.
He also said they are trying to take all measures to avoid further trouble on the campus.
