Ex-Bogura MP Mannan laid to rest

Former Awami League lawmaker Abdul Mannan was laid to rest in Bogura on Monday evening.

Abdul Mannan, also a freedom fighter, was buried at his family graveyard in Sariakandi upazila at about 5:30pm after the fourth funeral prayer.

Earlier, the body was first flown in Sonatala by a helicopter and then taken to Sariakandi.

In Dhaka, a namaz-e-janaza of Abdul Mannan was held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

Ministers, the deputy speaker, the chief whip, whips, parliament members and the leaders of different political parties attended the janaza.

A guard of honour was given to valiant freedom fighter Mannan on behalf of the Dhaka district administration.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also paid tributes to the former lawmaker by placing a wreath on his coffin.

Abdul Mannan passed away at a Dhaka hospital on Saturday morning
