BFDC employees block road for 1hr
The fellows of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) floor in-charge Abu Bakr Siddiq, died in police custody hours after arrest, blocked a road in front of the corporation for an hour on Monday.
They staged demonstration from 11am to 12noon protesting the death of Abu Bakr.
Vehicular movement from Hatirjheel to Karwan Bazar came to a halt following the demonstration.
According to the BFDC employees, Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station team detained Abu Bakr while returning home from his work place on Saturday evening. He was shown arrested in a case filed under Digital Security Act by one Roksana Akter Maya. He then fell sick at night due to torture, they alleged.
Bakr was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital when the Police Station inspector Iftekher Islam took him there.
The victim's family alleged that there were injury marks on Bakr's neck and body.
