Admission forgery: DU expels 63 students



Dhaka University's disciplinary board has recommended expulsion of 63 students of different departments on charge of admission forgery.

The panel also suggested expulsion of four more students arrested with drugs and arms from Mohsin Hall.

Besides, 13 students have been expelled temporarily on mugging allegation and two for beating up journalists.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the disciplinary council, chaired by Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman, on Tuesday morning.

Proctor Professor AKM Golam Rabbani, also the member secretary of the committee, confirmed the matter after the meeting.

"An allegation of question leak has been brought against 87 students. Recommendations have been put forward to expel 63.

Earlier, nine had been expelled temporarily and 15 for life term. Show-cause notices hade been served on them, Golam Rabbani added.
