Raid at Neo-JMB’s Ashulia den: Woman held


Police on Monday night detained a woman after a raid at a den of militant outfit Neo-JMB in Ashulia area of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

The detained is Shaila Sharmin, wife of Neo-JMB’s IT wing expert Tanvir Ahmed.

After the drive, Dhaka district Police Super Maruf Hossain Sardar said acting on tip off, Detective Branch (DB) of police police conducted the drive at a two-storey building in Gokulnagar area in the evening.

Police recovered some explosives, IT equipments and bomb-making materials during the drive, added the official.

Maruf Hossain further said the arrested woman is wife of Tanvir, a student of Jahangirnagar University, who is an IT expert of neo-JMB.

It was not possible to detain Tanvir but his wife has been detained, he added.
