Tabith, Taposh accuse rivals of attacking campaigns

Campaign for Dhaka's two city corporations is gaining momentum with the voting date getting closer.
Meanwhile, Tabith Awal, the BNP's mayoral candidate for DNCC, and Fazle Noor Taposh, AL nominated mayoral candidate for DSCC, have brought allegations against their rivals for attacking their electioneering.
On Sunday, Tabith Awal accused 'ruling party' activists of attacking his campaign near Shah Ali Mazar at Uttar Bishil of Mirur-1.
He alleged that they attacked on his election procession chanting 'Joy Bangla' slogans in front of police at about 11am and pelted brickbats that left one injured.
"We can not continue our electioneering peacefully. My party men came under attack also on the previous day. We'll inform the Election Commission," he added.
On the other hand, Taposh started his third day electioneering from Shantinagar kitchen market area.
At that time, he brought allegation against his political rivals for attacking on his electioneering.
"I went to the house of my rival candidate Ishraq Hossain while campaigning at RK Misshion Road and I sought their votes. But, they launched a sudden attack on our councillor candidates and others in the evening," said Taposh, also the son of Jubo League founder Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni.
"We want a friendly political atmosphere and politics of change. I wish the country people will join the beginning of a change."
