At least 10 people were killed in Gazipur fan factory fire -- Collected Photo

At least 10 people were burnt to death in a devastating fire at 'Luxury Fan Factory' in Keshorta area under Sadar upazila of Gazipur on Sunday.

Mamunur Rashid, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service confirmed the matter.

The fire originated on the second floor of the factory at about 5:30pm.

Two fire fighting units from Joydevpur Fire Service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at about 7:30pm.

Later, fire fighters recovered 10 bodies from inside the factory.





Gazipur Fire Service station officer M Zakaria Khan said the fire originated near the main door that forced the workers to take shelter inside.

As the blaze spread the entire factory, the workers got trapped inside, he said adding, it is atill unclear if they were burnt to dead or suffocation.
