Muktijuddho Corner opened at National Press Club

A Muktijuddho Corner with 100 books on the Liberation War was opened on Saturday at the National Press Club.
The opening of the special corner coincided with the Martyred Intellectuals' Day.
The Muktijuddho Corner opening ceremony began to the tune of the war songs 'Shob kota janala khule daw na' and 'Muktiro mandiro shopano tole kato pran holo balidan' at the garden of the club.
War veterans, editors and journalists from various daily newspapers and electronic media were present on the occasion.
Freedom fighter Major (retd) Shamsul Arefin, also a researcher on the Liberation War was present at the programme as the chief guest. The National Press Club President Saiful Alam presided over the programme.
Arefin stressed the need for more and more documentation on the facts and information of the Liberation War.
He urged all concerned to come forward to portray the greatness of our Liberation War by portraying more events and facts.
Senior journalists and editors including Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Hasan Shahriar, Reazuddin Ahmed, Motiur Rahman, Mahfuz Anam, Harun Habib, Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman, MP, Abul Kalam Azad, Monjurul Hasan Bulbul, Khandakar Moniruzzaman, Shawpan Shaha, Sharif Shahab Uddin, Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, Saban Mahmud, Omar Faruk, and Sohel Haider Chowdhury, among others, were present on the occasion.
National Press Club General Secretary Farida Yesmin gave the welcome speech. Library Subcommittee Convener Shahnaj Begum conducted the function.
