HC wants to know update of DIG Partho's case
The High Court on Wednesday wanted to know the latest update of the investigation of the graft case filed against Partho Gopal Banik, suspended Deputy Inspector General (Prisons) on Sylhet range.
The court asked the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to inform the matter by January 30.
It also fixed February 2 for the hearing on Partho Banik's bail petition.
An HC bench of Justice Wabaidul Hasan and Justice AKM Jahirul Haque passed the order.
Barrister Shafiq Ahmed and Quamrul Islam stood for the suspended DIG while Khurshid Alam represented the ACC.
Partho Gopal Banik was suspended following a corruption case filed by the ACC for recovering Tk 80 lakh from his flat in city's North Road on July 28 this year.
