Govt to fight ‘fake content’ on internet

Government has set to nationwide activities to fight the rise of fake contents on internet media marking the eleventh years of national technology driven strategy.
Marking the 'Digital Bangladesh Day' on December 12, which was known as National ICT Day, there was taken mass awareness programme to educate people in use of social media for social good instead of hate speech or other malicious activities.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak termed the 'Digital Bangladesh Vision 2021' as only long-term progressive planning after 1975 to empower the nation through bless of ICT.
ICT Division will observe the Digital Bangladesh Day on Thursday to combat rise of fabricated contents on internet platforms through raising awareness on 'verifying content before sharing with others'.
