3 found dead in 3 districts
Three persons were found dead in three districts- Manikganj, Laxmipur and Gopalganj, in two days.
MANIKGANJ: Police recovered body of a former leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from the Padma River in Dohar Upazila of Dhaka on Monday, five days after he went missing in trawler capsize in the river in Harirampur Upazila of the district.
Deceased Roni Bishwas was former law affairs secretary of Harirampur Upazila BCL.
Locals spotted the body of Roni on the bank of the river in Prankunno Village and informed police.
On information, police recovered the body and brought it to Harirampur Police Station (PS), said the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the PS Muyeed Chowdhury
Rony went missing on December 5 when a trawler carrying him capsized in the river after being hit by another goods-laden trawler.
LAXMIPUR: Police recovered a woman's body from Raipur Upazila of the district on Sunday noon.
Deceased Asma Akhter was the wife of Humayun Kabir of Sagardi Village in the upazila.
Family members of the deceased alleged that Humayun often tortured his wife for dowry. Asma might have committed suicide over family feud, they said.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Sadar PS OC Azizul Islam confirmed the matter.
GOPALGANJ: Police recovered a man's body from a field at Ullabari Uttar Para Village under Jalirpar Union in Muksudpur Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
Deceased Ranjan Bala, 38, was the son of Ranjit Bala of Rajoir Upazila in Madaripur District.
Locals said they saw the body in the said area in the morning and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Gopalganj 250-Bed General Hospital for an autopsy.
Muksudpur PS OC Mirza AK Azad confirmed the matter.
