Free Day observed at Gazaria, Raninagar
Gazaria Upazila in Munshiganj and Raninagar Upazila in Naogaon were freed from the Pakistani occupation forces on December 10 in 1971.
GAZARIA, MUNSHIGANJ: Free Day was observed in the upazila of the district with different programmes.
Gazaria was freed from the occupation of Pakistani Army on this dayin the year 1971.
Marking the day, a rally was brought out in front of Upazila Health Complex in the morning, which ended at Upazila Freedom Fighters' Complex after parading different roads in the upazila.
A discussion chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasan Sadi was held.
Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Md Maniruzzaman Talukder was present at the discussion as chief guest.
RANINAGAR, NAOGAON: Free Day was observed in the upazila of the district amid festivity on Tuesday.
Raninagar was freed from the occupation of Pakistani occupation forces on December 10 in 1971.
Freedom Fighter (FF) Abdur Rauf Dulu said "We started war with the Pakistan military on December 9. FF Commander Harun-or-Rashid and Ranju bhai's team also joined us in the war".
Thus, the upazila became free from the occupation of Pakistani forces after 36 hours of war.
