Samrat, Arman charged in drugs case

Expelled Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and his aide Enamul Haque Arman have been charged in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 deputy inspector Abdul Halim submitted the chargesheet against the duo before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masudur Rahman on Monday.
The elite force members arrested former Dhaka South City Jubo League president Samrat and his close aide Enamul Haque Arman, also a Jubo League leader, from Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla early morning on October 6.
Later, they raided Samrat's office in Bhuiyan Trade Centre at Kakrail and recovered a loaded pistol, 1,160 Yaba pills, 19 bottles of foreign liquor and two Kangaroo skins.
He was, later, sentenced to six months' imprisonment for possessing animal hide.
Besides, RAB-1 filed two cases against Samrat with Ramna Police Station under arms, and narcotics control act.
