Freedom Day observed in B’baria, Ramgarh, Pirojpur

The Freedom Day of Brahmanbaria, Ramgarh and Pirojpur was observed on Sunday amid much enthusiasm and in a befitting manner.
BRAHMANBARIA: In this connection, a facebook-based organisation 'Amrai Brahmanbaria' removed various advertisements from the boundary wall of Brahmanbaria High School and depicted different events including the Language Movement of 1952 and the Liberation War of 1971 on the wall.
The organisation also arranged a function titled 'Rongin hobe amader school' (we will colour our school) on Sunday morning.
Later, a discussion meeting was held where Additional Superintendent of Police Md Alamgir Hossain was present as chief guest and President of Brahmanbaria High School Managing Committee Md Jahirul Islam Bhuiyan was in the chair.
Among others, district Awami League (AL) General Secretary (GS)  Freedom Fighter Al Mamun Sarker, Principal of Brahmanbaria Government Women's College ASM Shafiqullah, and Head Teacher of Annada Government High School Farida Nazneen were also present.
The organisation has been running this exceptional programme for the last five years to represent the correct history of the Liberation War to the present generation.
Director of the organisation Emon said they are working to make a modern and clean Brahmanbaria.
RAMGARH, KHAGRACHHARI: To mark the day, a rally was brought out in Ramgarh Upazila Town in the morning, and after parading main roads of the town, it ended at the victory monument.
Later, a discussion meeting was held with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Ishrat in the chair.
Among others, Upazila Vice Chairman Anwar Faruk, former Muktijoddha Commander Mofizur Rahman, freedom fighters- Mansur Ahmed and Mostofa Hossen, Associate Professor of Ramgarh Government College Mongsajai Marma, and Officer-in-Charge of Ramgarh Police Station Tarek Mohammad Abdul Hannan also spoke at the meeting.
Upazila Assistant Education Officer Umraching Chowdhury moderated the programme.




PIROJPUR: To mark the day, district administration organised different programmes.  
A colourful rally was brought out from Town Club premises in the morning, and after parading main roads of the town, it ended at the same place.
A discussion meeting was also held, where Housing and Public Works Minister Advocate SM Rezaul Karim, MP, attended as chief guest while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Ali Md Shazzad Hossain was in the chair and Sheikh Anny Rahman, MP, was present as special guest.
Among others, District Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander (Additional In-Charge) and Additional DC (General) Nahid Farjana Siddque, district AL GS Advocate MA Hakim Hawlader, Pirojpur Municipality Mayor Md Habibur Rahman Malek, former District and Sessions Judge freedom fighter Salam Sikder, and Acting Police Super Mollah Azad Hossain were also present at the meeting.
