Mentioning 'proof of corruption' the leaked audio record of DUCSU vice president Nurul Haque Nur's conversation, the union general secretary Golam Rabbani (GS) has demanded resignation of the former.
Rabbani, who was removed from Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) as its general secretary on September 14 following extortion allegation, made the demand at a press conference organized by DUCSU BCL panel on Sunday.
Majority number members of BCL panel will also make no-confidence motion to the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) president and the university vice-chancellor against Nur if he voluntarily steps down, said in the press conference.
Rabbani claimed that he did not use his GS post to do something immoral but Nur did so and there are evidences of his wrongdoing.
At the press briefing, DUCSU member Rakibul Hasan Rakib read out written statement.
He said Nur must admit his misdeeds and step down as vice president of DUCSU. "If he does not did so, we demand his expulsion from the student body in proper manner."
On December 3, a private television aired a leaked audio clip of VP Nur's conversation over illegal exchange of money. The audio has also gone viral on social media.
