12 gold bars found at Sylhet airport’s dustbin

Customs officials on Saturday seized 12 gold bars weighing 1.4 kgs at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.

Members of Customs Intelligence found the gold bars abandoned in a dustbin of a bathroom at the report at about 9.00am.

Asgar Ali, superintendent of Airport Customs Intelligence, said any passenger might have dropped the gold bars after failing to pass those outside. Cleaners of the airport saw the bars and informed aviation department, he added.

The market price of the seized gold is approximately Tk 28.80 lakh, according to officials.
