Job seekers on Friday went on a mass hunger strike demanding extension of age limit to 35 from 30 for entering government jobs.

Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Parishad started observing the strike in front of Jatiya Press Club this afternoon.

Chief coordinator of the organization Muzammel Miazi said they went on the movement to press home their four-point demand.

The four-point demand including extension of the maximum age for entry into government jobs from 32 years to 35 years, fixing the application fee at Tk 50-100 and holding recruitment tests at district or upazila level apart from capital Dhaka and making specific policies as well as execution, including complete recruitment process within three to six months.

The protesters also sought appointment of Prime Minister to talk to her about their demands.

Muzammel Miazi said, "Hope, Prime Minister will accept the rational demands of around 26 lakh educated youths." But they will continue the mass hunger strike if the demands are not met, he added.
