Muktijoddha Mancha locks DUCSU VP’s office room
Leaders and activists of Muktijoddha Mancha on Wednesday locked the office room of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Vice-President Nurul Haque Nur.
Muktijoddha Mancha, a platform of freedom fighters' descendants, locked his room at DUCSU around 11:00am and burned an effigy of the student leader.
DUCSU General Secretary Al Mamun alleged that the DUCSU VP was heard talking about bribe in a leaked audio clip.
"He has lost the moral ground to hold the post any longer for his involvement in such an immoral act. We've locked his room to protest the matter," Al Mamun added.
Later, Nur along with other quota reformist leaders went to there and broke the lock and entered the room after complaining in this regard to the university Proctor. A conversation between the DUCSU VP and an expatriate Bangladeshi over monetary contract was leaked on a private channel on December 3.
In the audio clip the expatriate asked VP Nur to send bank account number along with an e-mail address. Contacted, Nur acknowledged that it was his voice but claimed that the television channel aired his audio partly aiming to create a negative image on his fame.
