Tigresses thru final blowing Nepal by 10 wickets
Title claimant Bangladesh Women's Cricket Team got an emphatic 10-wicket victory over hosts Nepal Women in their penultimate group clash of the SA Games Women Cricket on Wednesday and confirmed the final of the four-nation event at the Pokhra Rangasala in Nepal.
Bangladesh elected to bowl first winning the toss and cracked down Nepalese girls at 50. Host Divas had to face nightmare against debutant Rabeya Khan's whirlwind. Rabeya hauled four wickets spending eight runs only delivering her quota of four-over spell!
Besides, speedster Jahanara Alam fooled both the openers of Nepal to destine ball to the wickets while Salma Khatun, Nahida Akther and Fahima Khatun shared one wicket apiece.
To chase an ordinary total of 50, tigresses reached the winning landmark facing 7.4 overs only without any lose. Both the openers Ayasha Rahman and Murshida Khatun were unbeaten scoring 26 and 23 runs respectively.
Rabeya Khan named the player of the match.
Salma and co. beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in their first game of the tournament and will take on Maldives today for the last group stage clash.
Tigresses will engage in the 'battle for gold' on December 8 though the 2nd finalist is yet to decide till writing the report.
