BUET to expel students if found involved in ragging, politics

The authorities of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will expel a student permanently if the allegation of student's death due to his ragging is proved.
Not only this, the university law officer will also file a case against the accused in such a situation.
The BUET authorities will also expel the student who is found involved in politics.
The university authorities issued a circular in this regard on Monday.
The notice says, any student involves in politics, holds political post, forces or induces anyone to take part in politics or political activities (campaigning, participating in processions, meetings, pestering etc) in the university, can also given life term expulsion.
The offender who are found guilty of student's death due to ragging, physical harm or mental imbalance will be expelled from BUET permanently.
Earlier on November 21, the university authorities expelled 26 students for life over the murder of their fellow Fahad.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), was found dead at his dormitory Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7.
On October 11, BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Saiful Islam announced a ban on all kinds of organisational student politics on the campus.
