Govt fails to check prices of essentials: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said the countrymen are frustrated and angry with the government's failure in controlling the prices of essential commodities.
"The government failed to control both economy and politics due to its party interest," alleged Fakhrul
The BNP leader came up with the allegation while addressing a press conference at BNP's central office at Naya Paltan.
"The un-elected and illegal government is responsible for soaring prices of essential commodities. They accumulated huge wealth through corruption, money laundering, and looting thus caused the price hike of essential commodities," the BNP Secretary General alleged.
Blaming a syndicate run by ruling party leaders for the onion crisis, he said, "Creating artificial crisis of onions, the ruling party-run syndicate embezzled crores of taka."
Fakhrul said the prices of essential commodities could not be brought under control if the government fails to break its party-men's syndicate and to control the TCB."
The BNP standing committee members Dr Abdun Moyeen Khan, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, publicity secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, among others, were present at the press conference.
