‘Arun Alor Anjali’: Celebrating 20 years of Adity Mohsin’s music career


Marking Adity Mohsin's 20 years of prosperous music career, a celebration programme titled 'Arun Alor Anjali' will be held on December 6. The President of the festive celebration committee is theatre personality Ramendu Majumdar. Other members of the committee are Anisul Haque, Abdul Hai Sarker, Engineer Rabiul Alam, M. Hamid, Mamunur Rashid, Muhammad A. (Rumi) Ali, Sitangshu Kumar Sur Chowdhury, Syed Mahbubur Rahman and Hashem Khan.
'Arun Alor Anjali' will be held at the Bangladesh Krishibid Institution Auditorium at 6 pm on the scheduled day. Prime Minister's political advisor HT Imam will be present there as the chief guest and Indian High Commissioner of Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das and cultural activist cum lawmaker Asaduzzaman Noor MP will be the special guests. Prominent theatre personality Ramendu Majumdar will chair the programme. Adity Mohsin will sing her favorite songs on the occasion.
A press conference on the celebration programme was held in the city on December 1. Cultural personality Syed Apon Ahsan and members of the festival committee were present at the press conference.
Adity Mohsin is one of the most prominent Rabindra Sangeet singers of the sub-continent. She started her musical journey through country's famed music academy 'Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts' or BAFA. For her dazzling performance and instinct musical talent, Adity received the prestigious International Scholarship in music from the Government of India. Under the scholarship, she was privileged to study at the world-renowned VISVA- BHARATI University in Santiniketan. As recognition of her outstanding musical talent, she secured the first position in both Bachelor and Master's degree final exams. While studying at Santiniketan, Adity Mohsin received training from legendary musicians and singers like Kanika Bandopadhaya, who is considered as a remarkable musician, performer and mentor of all time in the Indian history of Tagore songs. She also received her training from another legendary music pandit Nilima Sen during her tenure at VISVA-BHARATI University. She returned to Bangladesh after completing her master's degree on Rabindra Sangeet and dedicated her rest life to music.  Besides practicing music, she worked as a Rabindra Sangeet teacher in Chhayanaut for 10 years. 20 years of her music career have passed, but still she is likewise pouring her melodious voice into the hearts of millions of listeners, transmitting fascinating muse of Rabindra Sangeet to millionsouls.
