Petrol pump strike observes in Rangpur division



Fuel supply in eight districts of Rangpur division remained stopped for the second consecutive day on Monday following the strike called by the petrol pump owners.

A total of 360 patrol pumps and more than 400 fuel oil supplier stopped selling and transportation of fuel oil in the division.

The daily demand of 15 lakh liters diesel, 3.5 lakh liters petrol and 1 lakh liters kerosene of the division are supplied from Parbatipur Railway Head Depot, said its in-charge Azam Hossain.

But no fuel-laden truck left from the depot for supplying fuel in the division due to the ongoing strike, he added.





Dinajpur Patrol Pump Owners' Association general secretary Rowshan Ali Sarkar said they are observing the strike to press home their 15-point demands.
