Dipu Chakma wins first gold for Bangladesh


Dipu Chakma won the first gold medal for the country in the 13th South Asian Games in Nepalese capital Kathmandu on Monday.

Dipu, hails from Rangamati, clinched the gold in the 29+ age category in poomsae event of Taekwondo beating the Indian contestant.

He scored 16.24 points.

After winning the gold, Dipu in his reaction said,"I'm still in an illusion.Winning a gold in a competition cannot be expressed in words." 

Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh won two bronzes in Taekwondo.





Humaira Akhter Antara achieved the first bronze in women's individual Kata event while Hassan Khan won another bronze medal in men's individual Kata.
