Man jailed on cheque fraudulence at Begumganj
BEGUMGANJ, NOAKHALI, Nov 20: A local court on Tuesday sentenced a man to one-year jail in a cheque fraudulence case.
Judge of Noakhali Joint Sessions Judge's Court-2 Nasrin Jahan declared the verdict against Shahinul Abedin, son of Joynul Abedin of Ghoshbag Village under Kabirhat Upazila of the district and owner of M's Abedin Traders at Kabirhat Bazaar.
As per the case, the convict had business relations with Mohib Ullah, son of Habib Ullah of Rajarampur Village under Senbag Upazila of the district and owner of M/s Priya Steel House at Sebarhat Bazaar. On September 29, 2016, the convict issued a cheque worth Tk 29,85,455 to Mohib Ullah. But, the cheque was dishonoured on October 9, 2016.
Later, Mohib Ullah sent a legal notice to Shahinul asking to pay the money on October 20, 2016. But, Shahinul snapped all communication with Mohib since then.
In this connection, Mohib Ullah filed a case with a Noakhali court on November 24, 2016.
