Two awarded life term in murder case
A court in Madaripur on Wednesday convicted two people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for brutally killing a motorcyclist in 2013.

Lifers Al-Amin Mollah, 29, a resident of  of Jhaudi village, and Al-Amin Hawlader, 29, of Tubia village, in Sadar upazila, will have to serve three months more in jail in case of failure to pay fine Tk 20,000 given against him.

District and Sessions Judge Nitai Chandra Shaha handed down the verdict in absentia.

According to the prosecution, Tutul Sardar, 23, son of Altu Sardar of Chhilar Char village, used to lead his livelihood by sharing motorcycle rides.

On December 11, 2013, the convict boarded on his motorcycle in guise of passengers. Later, they killed him, and chopped up his body into pieces, and put those under earth. They also snatched the motorcycle away.

Deceased father lodged a case with Madaripur Sadar Police Station in this connection .

Later, police submitted a charge sheet accusing the two on February 21.

Confirming the matter, public prosecutor Siddikur Rahman Sing expressed his satisfaction for the verdict.
