Truck-covered van workers observing strike

An indefinite strike, enforced by Bangladesh Truck Covered-van Goods Transport Owners Workers Unity Council, began across the country on Wednesday.

No trucks left Tejgaon Truck Stand in the capital this morning following the strike that began around 6am.

Rustam Ali, convenor of the council, announced the agitation programme at a press briefing on Tuesday to press home for their nine-point demand.

Their nine-point demands include the amendment of new Road Transport Act.

After bus strike that started from Monday, now the drivers of truck and covered van are on work stoppage from this morning.
