NBR Chief hopes for 15% raise of tax-GDP ratio

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Mosharraf Hossain on Tuesday expressed hope that country’s tax-GDP ratio will be increased to 15 percent within 2020.

“The tax-GDP ratio should be increase. To achieve the target, the number of tax payers must be be increased. Our present tax-GDP ratio is 10-11 percent, and we want to raise it to 15 percent within 2020,” said the NBR chief.

The NBR chief told journalists while visiting income tax fair at the Officers' Club in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Mosharraf said peoples’ interest to the tax fair is increasing day by day. They are paying tax amid festivity, he added.





The income tax fair, began on November 7 across the country, will be ended tomorrow (Wednesday).
