Tigers thru semies winning straight three matches
Bangladesh Emerging Team reached the semifinal of the 4th ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 as unbeaten champion of Group-B smashing Nepal by eight wickets at the BKSP Ground-4, Savar on Monday.
Hosts preferred to chase winning the toss and wrapped up guests at 138 after bowlers' domination over Nepal betters. Sumon Khan and Minhajul Afridi claimed three wickets each while Tanvir Islam and Mehidy Hasan shared two wickets apiece for Bangladesh. Man at nine Sompal Kami was the top scorer among Nepalese batsmen. He scored 38 runs.
To rush at the tinny target of 139, The Under-23 Bangladesh side were at 140 for two to ensure a massive victory with 156 balls remaining! Skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto was unbeaten scoring 59 while opener Naim Sheikh missed the half century for five runs.
Emerging Tigers blew away Hong Kong by nine wickets in their tournament starter and blew away India by six wickets in the following group clash to ensure the semi-final. Win again Nepal therefore, make them unbeaten champion of Group-B, and will take on Group-A runners-up Afghanistan in the second semifinal on November 21 following to the 1st semifinal between India and Pakistan on November 20.
The final game of the tournament will take place on November 23. The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium will host all three knock-out games.
