Police misfire at TCB's onion sell, 2 hurt
Two people, including a woman, were injured by bullet as police misfired during a scuffle among the buyers of onion from a TCB truck at Rikabi Bazar in Sylhet city on Monday afternoon.

One of the injured, Chandra Kanta Sinha, was admitted to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Witnesses said the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) started selling onion at rate of Tk 45 per kilogram at Rikabi Bazar's Kabi Nazrul Auditorium this morning.

The consumers locked into an altercation over making a queue. Bullet came out from a loaded shotgun of a police personnel and hit two persons when police were trying to control the situation, they added.  

Meanwhile, Kotwali Police Station inspector (investigation) Rita Akhter said police allowed five persons at a time to enter the auditorium through the gate for maintaining discipline .

When the scuffle began, police intervened and bullets came out from a shotgun of one of the on-duty police members mistakenly, leaving two injured.
