Two Bangladeshi men shot dead by BSF in Sherpur

Two Bangladeshi men were shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Panbari bordering area of Sreebardi upazila in Sherpur early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ukil Mia, 19, son of Banga Suruj of Meghadol village, and Khokan Miah, son of Azizul Member, of Matifata area in the upazila.

Khandakar Abdul Hai, in-charge of Karnajhora Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) outpost, said the BSF troops opened fire on them when they entered the Indian territory with a gang of smuggler, leaving them dead.

Later, the gang left the duo in Panbari area.

Police, later, recovered their body body and sent those to Sherpur Sadar Hospital morgue.

BGB and BSF sat in a flag meeting over the incident, he added.
