Nepalese students of BMSRTU protest sexual assault

Nepalese students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BMSRTU) in Goplaganj staged demonstration on the campus protesting sexual assault of a fellow student.

The protesting students formed a human chain in front of administration building on the campus on Sunday noon.

On November 13, a Nepalese student of Agriculture Department lodged a complaint to the registrar against teacher Humayun Kabir accusing him of sexual harassment.

The authorities, however, formed a five-member probe body, led by teacher Mansura Khanam, to investigate the matter. The committee  was asked to submit its report within five days.

During the protest, students displayed various placards against sexual assault and demanded punishment to the accused teacher.
