6 killed in road mishaps in five districts

Six persons were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in five districts- Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Bhola, Gazipur and Jamalpur, on Friday and Thursday.
RAJSHSHI: At least five persons including a patient was injured when a passenger-laden 'Leguna' vehicle collided head to head with a ambulance at Rajshahi-Dhaka Highway of Tarapur Dhalan area in Puthia Upazila of the district on Friday noon.
The injured are: Fazlur Rahman, 45, of Vanghurpara area in the upazila, Mina Bibi, 50, of Bagha Upazila in the district and Abed Ali, 70, of Natore District.
The identities of other injured are not known yet.
In-Charge of Shibpur Police Camp Sub-Inspector (SI) Kajol Kumer Nandi said a Rajshahi-bound ambulance hit the Leguna from the behind, leaving at least five persons injured.
Later, locals rescued them and rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
On information, police visited the scene and seized these vehicles.
PARBATIPUR, DINAJPUR: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Parbatipur Upazila of the district on Friday morning.
Deceased Hasinur Rahman Habib, 35, was the lecturer in Monmothpur Ideal Degree College.
Deceased's family sources said a truck hit Habib's motorcycle in the Bypass Road of Parbatipur at around 9pm on Thursday, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, the locals and his family members took him to a private clinic in Rangpur, where he died at 8am.    
CHAR FASSON, BHOLA: A youth was killed in a road accident on Char Fasson-Shashivushan Road in Panir Kal area of the upazila in the district on Thursday.
Deceased Emran Hossain, 30, was the son of Nur Nabi Piter of Ward No. 7 in Ewajpur Village.
Eyewitnesses and deceased's family sources said Emran was seriously injured as two speedy motorcycles hit each other at night. Later, locals took him to Char Fasson Hospital, where the on-duty doctor sent him to Barishal. He died on way to Barishal.
Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Shashivushan Police Station (PS) Abul Hasan Khan confirmed the incident.    
SREEPUR, GAZIPUR: Three persons were killed and two injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a bus in Birujly area under Kapasia Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Sohel Mia, 55, son of Farid Uddin of Aralia area, his daughter Ruma, 5, and Mazharul Islam, 33, of Targaon Dakkhin Para area and Kapasia Upazila sub-assistant agriculture officer.
The injured are: Nazma Akhter, 45, wife of the deceased Sohel, and her daughter Suma, 20.
Kapasia PS SI Binoy Sarker said all the victims were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.
JAMALPUR: An old man was killed in a road accident in Sarishabari Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.
Deceased Mokbul Hossain, 70, was a resident of Kumarpara Village in the upazila.
Locals said a truck hit a three-wheeler on Sarishabari-Tarakandi Road in the morning, leaving its passenger Mokbul dead on the spot.
Tarakandi PS Inspector Mohabbat Kabir confirmed the incident.
