Stolen baby rescued



Police rescued an infant on Thursday night, a day after he had been stolen from Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Nahida Akter, 28, wife of Md Sourav, of Nalkharia village in Kahalu uapzila, gave birth to a boy at the hospital around 2:00pm on Wednesday, said Bogura Police superintendent Ali Ashraf Bhuiya.

Later, an unidentified woman took the baby from Nahida's lap saying that she would take him to the pediatric department for treatment and since then the baby remained missing.

Sourav filed a case with the local police station in this connection the same day.





On information, a team of police raided the house of one Faruk in Latifpur colony of Bogura district town around 11:00pm and rescued the boy, said Sadar police station officer in-charge SM Badiuzzaman.

Police also arrested a woman-- Reshma Khatun, 35--  in this connection.
