Dhaka-North Bengal rail link resumes


The rail communication of capital Dhaka with the districts of North Bengal resumed on Thursday night, around seven hours after suspension.

'Tista Express' train went towards Dhaka through Ullapara Station in Sirajganj around 8:45pm.

Earlier, intercity train 'Rangpur Express' caught fire after nine of its compartments including the engine derailed in Ullapara Rail Station of Sirajganj at about 1:30pm today, disrupting rail communication of Dhaka with North Bengal districts.

At least 20 passengers received injuries in the incident.
