Bangladesh national football team is meeting Oman rival in the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round-2 for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 today (Thursday) at 5:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time) at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Muscat in Oman.
Host Oman is ranked 84th in the FIFA World Ranking while Bangladesh is ranked 184th. The difference is 100. But, Head coach James Day of the red and green outfits asked the boys to give their best. He wished that the boys play in the same way they played in the last two matches against India and strong Qatar.
The English coach recalled the results and performances of the last two matches and said, "If my boys can continue the performances of the previous matches in the Oman match, they may do well.
He said that the match would not be so easy and he would be happy to collect a single point from the match.
Team skipper Jamal Bhuiyan said, "Oman boys are a strong team. They are very much organised and have many players who can and will try to score. We know about their strong and weak points. We will try to give our best and do well."
